Starbucks Cup Mess Gets the ‘Red Solo Cup’ Treatment It Sorely Deserves

Subscribe to TheFW on

The firestorm over Starbucks’ holiday cups may have finally reached its zenith.

WCYY, in Portland, Maine, decided it couldn’t take the controversy — or any other scandal, for that matter — anymore and created this brilliant ditty, “The Internet Outrage Song (aka Red Starbucks Cup).”

Wonderfully drawing on Toby Keith’s classic “Red Solo Cup,” this parody not only attacks the lunacy of this flap, but also mentions other stories that have captivated our attention for better or worse, including Cecil the Lion, CaitlynJenner, #thedress, Donald Trump and a host of other subjects.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and that would certainly be a cause people could get worked up about), you’ll certainly identify with the message of the song. Enjoy!
