As awesome as it is, some folks have a tendency to take the 'Star Wars' universe a bit too seriously. Count Tony Perkins among those who has trouble separating his fantasy from his reality after he railed against software manufacture Bioware's plans to allow gay relationships in their massive multi-player online game 'Star Wars: The Old Republic.' Perkins said in a statement:
In a new Star Wars game, the biggest threat to the empire may be homosexual activists! Hello, I’m Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. In a galaxy not so far far away, Star Wars gamers have already gone to the dark side. The new video game, 'Star Wars: The Old Republic,' has added a special feature: gay relationships.
Perkins continued to claim that these potential gay cyber-relationships were a cause of celebration among real-life homosexuals, and a concern for parents.
Hmm. We're thinking C-3PO won't be invited to speak at the Family Research Council convention anytime soon.
