Sleeping Hummingbird Is Too Cute for Words

Hummingbird snores

Hummingbirds are usually a whirlwind of activity. But, like any animal, they are a lot calmer when they sleep. Although this female Amethyst-throated Sunangel is certainly quite a snorer.

The bird was being recorded as part of an experiment to see has much oxygen it was consuming as it slept. According to the scientist who was conducting the exercise the bird isn’t actually snoring. Instead it is really just breathing heavily, and the overly sensitive microphone on the camera created a snoring/tweeting effect that is much louder than it would have been otherwise.

Nevertheless, that little guy is certainly asleep. Do you think birds dream of walking? You can check out a list of more adorable animals loudly catching  Z’s here. But, we have to warn you, it could make you drowsy.
