Senate Candidate Hank The Cat Victim of Vicious Attack Ad

You've probably heard of Hank, the cat running for a Senate seat in Virginia. You might have thought, "Awwwwww, how cute!" But do you know what lurks under that adorable exterior?

Super PAC Canines for a Feline-Free Tomorrow asks whether Hank, as a Maine coon, is really right for Virginia. Does he have a catnip problem? Are there any illegitimate kittens in his past?

As you might have guessed, this ad is not entirely serious: it's the work of Virginia comedy troupe The Big Honkin, simply getting in on the fun and sending up political attack ads. Especially since Virginia will be voting in the Republican primaries next week, they're probably seeing a lot of them, and, like everyone else, is heartily sick of them.

That said, although the ad raises troubling questions, we're still voting for Hank. Because, let's face it, a politician needs a big furry belly you can rub.
