A restaurant known around the world for its service, and not in a good way, is closing its doors.

Sam Wo Chinese Restaurant, home of the "world's rudest waiter" and a staple of San Francisco's iconic Chinatown, is going out of business.

The restaurant's owner, David Ho, isn't able to meet the restaurant's upkeep. In addition, Sam Wo's business suffered after health inspectors slapped the restaurant with violations for "rodent activity, improper food storage and kitchen disrepair," according to the Associated Press.

Despite these issues, the restaurant has become a hotspot among the city's quirkiest eateries. The restaurant also became known in foodie circles as the home of the world's rudest waiter, the late Edsel Ford Fung. The waiter became infamous for berating customers over their food choices and slamming plates and bowls on tables.

Sam Wo also gained national exposure when 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' featured the restaurant as an official sponsor alongside Intel during a visit to San Fran. Conan also did a commercial for the restaurant that praised the low price of its pork intestines and the natural lighting blocked by fluorescent lighting.

We don't know about you but our mouths are watering. Hopefully Sam Wo will return someday.
