'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' was a big hit, grossing more money in 1991 than any movie not titled 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day.'

Kevin Costner starred as the arrow-slinging wealth distributor in tights, and the film was directed by Kevin Reynolds. The Kevins would reunite three years for the legendary flop 'Waterworld.' (Which is nowhere near as awful as it's given credit for.)

But let's remember better times, and see what the cast of 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' is up to these days.

Then: Costner was one of the biggest movie stars in the world at the time that he played Robin Hood, thanks to movies such as 'Dances With Wolves' and 'Field of Dreams.' (Maybe that's why he didn't bother adopting a British accent.) In 1991, he also starred in the Oliver Stone film 'JFK.'

Now: Costner has never quite recovered from 'Waterworld' and his other big '90s flop 'The Postman.' However he is slated to star in blockbuster candidates 'Jack Ryan,' 'Man of Steel' and 'Three Days To Kill,' so a return to the A-list is a possibility.

Then: Morgan Freeman brought his usual gravitas to the role of Robin Hood's Moorish companion Azeem. Although he had been acting since the mid-'60s, Freeman didn't really enter into the public’s consciousness until 1989, when he starred in three films, 'Driving Ms. Daisy,' 'Glory' and 'Lean on Me.'

Now: At 75, Freeman is still one of the most prolific actors around. (There's no missing that voice.) In 2013 he is slated to appear in 'Olympus is Falling,' 'Oblivion' and 'Now You See Me.'

  • Christian Slater, Will Scarlett

Then: You may remember Slater as hot-headed merry man Will Scarlett in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.' That same year he played one of the leads in 'Mobsters' and appeared in 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.'

Now: Slater recently starred in the sitcom 'Breaking In,' which was cancelled in 2012 after a season and a half. He will be in the Sylvester Stallone thriller 'Bullet to the Head,' which will be his highest profile movie role in years.

  • Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Marian Dubois

Then: Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was Maid Marian, Robin's love interest. Mastrantonio had made her film debut as Tony Montoya's sister in 1983's ‘Scarface,’ and had gone on to notable films like 'The Color of Money’ and ‘The Abyss.'

Now: Mastrantonio is more of a TV actor these days, with recent recurring roles on 'Grimm' and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent.' She has two children with her husband, director Pat O'Connor.

  • Alan Rickman, Sheriff of Nottingham

Then: Rickman played the sadistic Sheriff of Nottingham. He was already well-known for playing another villain, the diabolical Hans Gruber in 'Die Hard.'

Now: The English actor has spent the past decade portraying Professor Severus Snape in the ’Harry Potter’ franchise. His post-Potter films are set to include 'CBGB' and 'The Butler.'

  • Sean Connery, King Richard

Then: He wasn't credited for the role, but there was no doubt that was Sean Connery portraying King Richard in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.' While Connery hadn't played James Bond, his most famous character, since 1983, he was still a household name and face thanks to movies such as 'The Hunt For Red October' and 'Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.'

Now: Connery is retired from acting, with his last role being in 2003's 'League of Extraordinary Gentleman.' The 82-year-old did, however, lend his voice to the 2012 computer animated comedy adventure 'Sir Billi.'

  • Michael McShane, Friar Tuck

Then: McShane played Friar Tuck in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.' You may also remember him from 'Office Space,' in which he played a hypnotist who dies while plying his mysterious craft, and as Kramer's superstitious rival FDR on 'Seinfeld.'

Now: An American actor who's had a fair share of success in England, McShane's last role was as Grayle on the BBC series 'Dr. Who.'

  • Michael Wincott, Guy of Gisborne

Then: Wincott played the devious Guy of Grisborne, who aids his cousin, the Sheriff of Nottingham, in his evil-doing. The Julliard-trained actor had previous been in movies such as 'The Sicilian' and 'The Doors.'

Now: An accomplished character actor, Wincott played Ed Gein in the 2012 biopic ‘Hitchcock.’ He is set to appear in the Terrence Malick movie ‘Knight of Cups.’

  • Bryan Adams, The Balladeer

Then: Yup, that was pop star Bryan Adams appropriately playing a balladeer in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.' His song, '(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,' also helped to make the movie’s soundtrack a big hit.

Now: Adams is a notoriously private person, but has been a social activist for decades. He is also a professional photographer, who has shot ad campaigns for Converse, Guess and Fred Perry, among others. He spent 2012 touring his home country of Canada, where he is an officer of the order of Canada. He is expecting his second child with his girlfriend Alicia Grimaldi this year.
