Watch a Real-Time Dolphin Rescue

You’re not supposed to help injured animals in the wild, but when a dolphin started hanging around these divers with a fishing hook and line obstructing its swimming, they were startled into action.

A hook embedded in the dolphin’s fin was connected to a length of line that had becomed wrapped around, restricting its motion. You can see for yourself how the creature seems to deliberately seek out the divers’ help, waiting patiently while one of them cuts away the line.

Unfortunately even though it could swim again, it still had the hook in its fin when it swam away. Perhaps body piercings are big in the dolphin world right now? Either way, both the dolphin and the humans departed with an interesting story to share.
