Another Oscar night down, and all things told, this one really wasn't as bad as many anticipated. Sure, all the major awards went as predicted. Sure, Seth MacFarlane insisted on putting one of his animated characters in there. (At least it wasn't Stewie.) And sure, he sang a ridiculously infantile song about boobs.

But we also had some awesome surprises, including several you may have missed. Who knew Daniel Day-Lewis and Quvenzhané Wallis had such a similar sense of style? For that matter, who expected Edna Turnblad and Jennifer Hudson to share a stage at last? And who will ever forget that wild death match for the Sound Effects Editing award? Here, those special Oscar moments you may have missed, preserved for posterity.
