Commissioned by the New York City Parks Department, an optical illusion display by the famed Miami sculptor Rafael Barrios has caused the busy citizens of NYC to actually stop in their tracks for once to take a second look at their surroundings.

In fact, this is just one of nine sculptures the city has chosen to display along Park Avenue, from 50th to 68th streets. The '3D' sculptures, made of stainless steel and lacquered with airplane paint, took Barrios several weeks to complete. But only a few precious seconds for New Yorkers to stop and appreciate.
