Vikings punter Chris Kluwe is famous, some would say notorious, for not being shy about speaking his mind. For example, when a few NFL players held up the entire league in union negotiations during last year's lockout, he called them out for it.

And when a Maryland legislator essentially told a Baltimore Raven to shut up about gay marriage, he learned Kluwe's foot has nothing on his mouth.

For background, Maryland state legislator Emmett C. Burns Jr. wrote a letter to the owner of the Ravens that essentially asked that Brendon Ayanbadejo be ordered by the Ravens to not speak about gay marriage or basically express any opinion Burns didn't like.

Ayanbadejo is more than capable of defending himself, and the Ravens responded to the letter with deafening silence, but Kluwe was happy to help pitch in with a NSFW letter that starts thusly:

The views you espouse neglect to consider several fundamental key points, which I will outline in great detail (you may want to hire an intern to help you with the longer words):

Let's just say it gets more pointed (and hilariously profane) from there. But Kluwe's basic point is that Ayanbadejo has the right to express his opinion and his support for any political cause he pleases. Freedom of speech is the First Amendment, after all, and besides... do you want to be the one to tell Ayanbadejo to be quiet to his face?
