When you come to an intersection and someone approaches your car with a handwritten sign you pretty much expect to be solicited for a handout from a beggar with a sob story.

However, Doug Eaton flipped that awkward script last week when he confronted passing motorists with a sign that read "I have a home and a car and a job. Do you need a few bucks for some coffee?"

The Oklahoma City man had been looking for a way to celebrate his 65th birthday. So he asked his Facebook friends what he should do, and one suggested 65 random acts of kindness. That morphed into a plan to spend 65 minutes of his birthday handing out five dollar bills at a busy intersection.

According to Eaton, the reaction was great. Even those who didn't take the money told him they loved what he was doing and wanted him to give what would have been their share to somebody who really needs it.

“I think this is the craziest guy I have ever seen in my life and it's fantastic! I am enjoying the moment out here,” one driver told KFOR 4.
