When it comes to microwave technology, things are really heating up.

Mark Rober has come up with a new way of making sure microwaves cook foods for the appropriate amount of time, which is great news for anyone who's zapped a frozen dinner for four minutes only to pick up their entire still-frozen Salisbury steak with one fork.

Rober wants to equip microwaves with infrared cameras which will see the temperature of all sorts of foods.
