Injured Mama Cat Leads Rescuer to Her Kittens
In yet another amazing tale proving some animals are more compassionate than human beings, we humbly submit Jolie, the heroic mama cat.
Jolie calls England her home, and when she was pregnant, some cruel dolt tossed her out of a moving car. She survived, and a kind soul fed her and eventually confined her in a rural area before calling the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
By then, Jolie had already given birth and was quite thin, but no one knew where the kittens were. The RSPCA tended to her scraped face and treated her for fleas and worms before taking Jolie back to the area so she could return to her babies.
As RSPCA inspector Jon Knight released her, she began calling out to him. And when he followed, she eventually led him through a garden, a field, and into a yard -- all the way to her four kittens.
"There is absolutely no way I would have found these kittens without this cat’s help. She was a huge distance away from the garden she had first been found in, and was clearly doing all she could to lead me to her kittens ... In my 15 years as an inspector I have never had this happen before and I was quite shocked by it all."
Although the kittens -- two boys and two girls -- were badly dehydrated when found, they're now healthy, and mother and children are being cared for by the Block Fen Animal Centre in Wimblington, England.
Meanwhile, the RSPCA is still looking for the [expletive deleted] who heartlessly tossed Jolie out of that moving car.
