When a video of President Obama (sort of) singing the Carly Rae Jepsen hit 'Call Me Maybe' emerged, we declared the meme of folks either singing or lip-dubbing the tune to be dead. Getting to be the last person to participate in a meme is part of executive privilege, we believe.

However, when it comes to music, we always make an exception for the talents of Jimmy Fallon.

When he got together with his house band The Roots and Carly Rae herself to perform their backstage "music room" take on the earworm of 2012 we had to post the results. Check it out.

Good stuff. And further proof that there just aren't enough kazoos in popular music today.

Also, did you notice that Jepsen started laughing every time Fallon looked over at her? It's hard to sing when you are sitting next to such a funny guy.

What do you think? Was this elementary-school classroom instrument-driven arrangement of 'Call Me Maybe' better than the many, many covers out there on the Web?
