This isn't the typical citizen cops are used to seeing.

A horse walked into Britain's Cheshire police station this week.

Quicker than you can say, "Hay!," the horse was ushered out of the building and back to its life of whatever it does when it's not surprising law enforcement officials.

A police spokesman had some fun with the incident, showing off his wordplay skills:

We were somewhat saddled with our unexpected guest, who in the early hours of the morning quickly became the mane event of the night shift. We like to ensure a warm welcome to all our guests at HQ, and at neigh point did the horse pose a risk to security and appeared to be a well cared for animal."

Isn't it nice to know officers on that side of the Atlantic have a sense of humor?
