Bobby Gumm was reportedly surfing off the coast of northern Oregon when a 16-foot shark attacked and ate nearly two feet of his surfboard. Dude, that's the very definition of gnarly.
As a way to commemorate the incident, Gumm plans to put the remains of his board on permanent display at the restaurant where he works. Great idea! Nothing says ambiance like a near-death encounter.
