This Is Why You Shouldn’t Walk and Text
Texting and walking is a pretty bad idea, particularly when you're walking down steps. Which is something the young lady in the background of this live CBC report is bound to remember the next time she tries to look at her phone while navigating a short flight of concrete stairs.
The newscasters in the video drone on about budget deficits, blissfully unaware that the real disaster has taken place behind them. Although the other pedestrians quickly take notice and rush to the aid of this victim of technology.
That was quite a fall. We hope she's OK, because she doesn't get up during the duration of the clip. (And we certainly hope her phone is OK.)
But the real mystery of the video is why the folks who made it were using their cellphones to record a fairly boring news segment in the first place. Are they clairvoyant? Or is this just what Canadians do when there isn't a hockey game on?
