‘Total Recall’ Trailer Will Erase Your Memory of the Original

Ferrell recall

After teasing us with a quick glimpse last week, the first full length trailer for ‘Total Recall’ dropped over the weekend.

And, from the looks of it, the plot is more or less going to follow that of 1990’s ‘Total Recall,’ which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. That film featured some pretty ground-breaking special effects. However, this time around, the effects look to be even better. Check them out in the trailer.

While Colin Farrell lacks Schwarzenegger’s muscles, that certainly doesn’t prevent him from making short work of a bunch of soldiers who look like Imperial Scout Troopers from ‘Return of the Jedi.’

Speaking of fighting, Kate Beckinsale plays Farrell’s wife-turned-enemy with all of her ‘Underworld’ tough-girl attitude. “You haven’t even begun to see me try to kill you,” she tells Farrell, as he tries to figure out what is real and what is “Recall.”

Beckinsale also engages in some pretty intense fisticuffs with co-star Jessica Biel, in what many of the two actresses’ male fans will probably label “the best cat fight ever.”

All-in-all, it’s a lot of sleek-looking violence perpetuated by a bunch of very good-looking people. Is that enough to make you want to watch ‘Total Recall, which is set for an August 3rd release? Or will you stick with the “Ah-nuld” original?
