Beauty may lie in the eyes of the beholder, but according to scientists and mathematicians in Great Britain, 18-year-old Florence Colgate has been dubbed the "most beautiful face" in the country.

In a natural beauty contest called 'Lorraine: Naked,' conducted by the television channel ITV, Colgate was ultimately picked the winner from 8,000 participants in a nation-wide search for the perfectly symmetrical face.

Entrants were judged without make-up and should not have undergone any form of plastic or cosmetic surgery to qualify.

Colgate's face had many characteristics that stood out among judges, one of which was the ratio of the distance between her ears to the distance between her pupils, which at nearly 2:1, is considered to be the scientific ideal. The blue-eyed beauty also has the "optimum ratio" between her mouth, eyes, chin, and forehead. One face expert even said Colgate's large eyes, high cheekbones, full lips and fair complexion were all important "cues to attractiveness."

The English beauty is currently in her final year at Dover Grammar School in Kent, England, and plans to study business management in the future. But Colgate says she would love to give modeling a try. Perfect, considering winning the contest also means Colgate will now appear on advertisements for a chain of drug stores across England.
