‘Family Guy’ Tweet Gets British Duo Banned From America
When British tourists Leigh Van Bryan and Emily Banting arrived in Los Angeles, customs officials discovered that Van Bryan had recently sent out a tweet about "destroying America."
While any English person (and most Americans) would understand that by "destroy" he meant to get rip-roaring drunk and party so hard that he ends up offending a Kardashian, the literal-minded officials detained the pair for making terroristic threats.
To make matters worse for the couple, Van Bryan had also sent out a tweet in which he claimed that during their visit to the States they would be "pissing people off on Hollywood Blvd and diggin' Marilyn Monroe up."
'Family Guy' fans will recognize that as a reference from the popular animated show, but the customs agents did not, and became concerned that the pair was going to desecrate the grave of an American icon -- before obliterating the nation as a whole.
The good news is that after 12 hours of detention the agents finally concluded that Van Bryan and Banting didn't intend to do America harm. The bad news is that they were still placed on the next flight back home.
Well, at least the watering holes on Hollywood Blvd are safe from Van Bryan and Banting's drunken mayhem.
