Eleven Couples Get Married at 11:11AM on 11/11/11 [PHOTOS]

In Sweden, eleven couples gathered at Goteburg Cathedral to be married at 11:11AM on 11/11/11. Meanwhile, similar group weddings took place in New York City's Times Square and Las Vegas. Seeing a pattern here?

The day has proved to be immensely popular with couples all around the world looking to get hitched. Las Vegas chapels, for example, reported that wedding bookings climbed sharply.

And in New York, eleven couples won the Crowne Plaza Hotel's "Marry Me" contest on Facebook, earning themselves a wedding in Times Square on the date.

Some believe that the day is a lucky one due to its numerical significance. Given that, we can probably expect another wedding stampede on 12/12/12. Brace yourselves.
