Edward Snowden joined Twitter this week and all heck broke out.

Snowden, the controversial figure who leaked classified NSA information, signed up for the social media site and snagged nearly one million followers in under one day.

That was the basis for this HLN interview with Jon Hendren, who you may know as @fart on Twitter. For reasons that are not entirely clear, Hendren went on with Yasmin Vossoughian to talk about Snowden.

Things go awry around the 2:05 when Vossoughian asks a question and Hendren responds by talking about Edward Scissorhands and not Edward Snowden.

"I think to cast him out, to make him invalid in society, simply because he has scissors for hands, I mean that's strange. I mean people didn't get scared until he started sculpting shrubs into dinosaur shapes and what not."

Hendren keeps the joke going and what's really eye-opening is that Vossoughian continues to ask serious questions, making you wonder if she's aware what he's doing.

Hendren spoke to Esquire about the interview. "I was surprised that they didn't cut me off immediately, so I just kept rolling with it assuming at some point they'd hang up, and they never did for some reason," he said.

Or maybe Hendren was being sincere:
