Drunk Man Has Epic Struggle With Escalator

It's no secret that alcohol can make even mundane tasks darn near impossible. But an apparently drunken man took this to the extreme in London when he waged an epic battle against an escalator and lost.

Video shows the man, who's wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase, trying to walk the wrong way down an escalator at Tottenham Court Road station for more than two minutes. Well-meaning commuters do their best to steer him in the right direction, but he won't be deterred.

Eventually, someone pushes the emergency stop button and the escalator comes to a halt. According to 27-year-old Sam Napper, who filmed the incident, the man then left quietly.

"After pausing for a few seconds, he turned around and walked out, as if nothing ever happened, saying nothing, leaving us stunned," said Napper.

What do you think? Is this man really drunk, or does he simply refuse to let an escalator get the better of him? Either way, at least he didn't get stuck between two buildings like this drunk woman.
