Could you imagine 'Downton Abbey' patriarch Hugh Bonneville in '90s era Detroit? Or what about Martin Lawrence yucking it up with the lords and ladies in early 20th century England?

This mash-up, which combines the cast of the high-brow BBC hit ' Downton Abbey' with the opening credit sequence from 'Martin,' brings to mind such strange scenarios. Check it out.

Strangely it works. (Though our favorite 'Downton Abbey' parody is still the one Jimmy Fallon dropped earlier this year.)

Of course that effort would have been even stronger if it was also guest-starring Martin Lawrence as Martin Lawrence. Then again, randomly dropping the manic funnyman into any period piece would be comedy gold. Especially the part when he goes nuts and starts screaming obscenities at passing horse and carriages.
