According to roast veteran Jeffrey Ross, the tough love doled out in the upcoming Comedy Central roast of Charlie Sheen should be viewed as a therapeutic step in the actor's public rehabilitation.

"These roasts are often therapeutic for a person," Ross, who is Comedy Central's Roast Master General, told Entertainment Weekly. "These are things he needs to hear. No one deserves to be roasted more than the warlock. I see this as a comedy intervention. This is the first step of what you could call a comeback."

Comedy Central has announced Seth MacFarlane will serve as Sheen's roast master, but the rest of the slots haven't been made public. While Ross kept quiet on the bold-faced names who might be slated for the dais, he did imply that some of Sheen's exes and famous relatives might make an appearance.

"I think people are going to be blown away" Ross said. "There has been interest from very surprising people."

Check out the trailer for the roast, which will air September 19, below.
