This video was made by the people behind Skateistan -- a charity organization that teaches children in Afghanistan and Cambodia skateboarding, amongst other things.

They also teach creative arts and multimedia. A back-to-school program helps refugee children get prepared for public school. Surprisingly, 40 percent of the kids going to this program and skateboarding are girls. In a country where extremists intimidate girls who want to get an education, the girls taking part in the Skateistan program show exceptional bravery.

Next week Skateistan is hosting a biannual fundraising drive. Consider giving to a charity that works to empower and protect children.
