Beware the dangers of the den of kittens!

A stranded young grey humpback whale was spotted by locals on White Rock beach in British Columbia. As news spread, hundreds of people gathered on the beach south of Vancouver to try to help the whale washed up on shore. Sadly, their efforts in pouring buckets of water could not help the humpback. After nearly two hours, the whale died.
Every day we call an end to the 'Call Me Maybe' meme. And every day we are compelled to run yet another video of the infectious Carly Rae Jepsen tune being either covered or lip dubbed. It's almost as if internet doesn't listen to us at all.
But this latest effort is really for the dogs. A corgi has performed the official anthem for first part of the summer of 2012. Corgi Rae Jepsen. We should have seen it coming.
Giraffes are strange and fascinating beasts. In fact, it was the animal's signature long neck that helped encourage Charles Darwin to pursue his theory of evolution. If you live in America, the only place you're going to see a giraffe is in the zoo. But if you happen to be in Africa, you could just see one walking around.
Given the unceasing popularity of cats on the internet, it was probably just a matter of time before felines got their own social networking site. In that spirit, a man has created "Meowbook," a place where kitties can connect with others in a safe environment. But don't get too excited, cat lovers. This is, unfortunately, just a parody. (We think.)
A sneaky dog helps himself to a snack on a counter top by using problem-solving skills we previously thought only humans possessed. Smart dog! Now go get our wallet and car keys.
In what is obviously a response to the creepy 'cat-copter,' the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has come out with a video ad showing you how one can levitate a cat without attaching propellers to each of its paws.
An Oregon teenager recently plucked a black bear cub from the wild, but quickly realized he and his family had absolutely no idea how to take care of it. (Duh.) It's the best example yet of why it's illegal (and not very smart) to remove a wild animal from its natural environment even if they are mind-meltingly awww-dorable.
While we don't know why dogs love sticking their heads out of a moving car, we don't seem to mind it when they do. Maybe it's catching the breeze or how funny some of them look when doing so. Either way, it's cute, and it's the inspiration for a new video by Keith Hopkin called 'Dogs In Cars: California.'
