Children of the '70s and '80s may remember that breastfeeding used to be featured on 'Sesame Street,' as a way of educating kids about the natural bodily function.

Apparently that practice has stopped, much to the dismay of the more than 5000 people who have signed a petition to "Bring Breastfeeding Back To Sesame Street."

According to the petition:

If we normalize breastfeeding in our community, especially with our children, we can help raise a generation of breastfeeders which will support our economy, make for healthier children and lessen the risk of breast cancer for many nursing mamas!"

That sounds logical, right? Well, we thought so too until we saw this video from 1977 of Big Bird just a little too interested in 'Sesame Street' cast member/singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie breastfeeding her child. To incorporate a similar controversy into the discussion, let's just say that if Big Bird was your Facebook friend, you wouldn't want to post any breastfeeding photos on your profile.  Check out the questionable video below and let us know if you think kids should see breastfeeding on TV in the comments.
