Jacob, an eight-year-old who is blind and autistic, was walking with his mother through downtown Lawrence, KS, when he heard street musician Tyler Gregory playing the song 'Midnight Special.'

Jacob stopped and began bobbing his head to the tune. Soon he was inching over to Gregory. Jacob's mom tried to gently pull him back, but when Gregory didn't seem to mind she let him go. It wasn't long before Jacob was touching Gregory and his guitar. The youngster was feeling the music.

Pretty powerful stuff. And no one was more moved by it all than Gregory, who said the experience with Jacob was so deep and emotional that it brought him to tears.

Unlike most kids that come up to me with curiosity, I felt so much energy coming off of him and I was completely overwhelmed," Gregory wrote on his blog. "His hand on my leg was very powerful and about brought me to tears while playing. Not because he is blind or autistic.. but because of a connection I have never felt and one that is impossible to explain."

He might not be able to explain it, but the video does a pretty good job in summing up what made the encounter so special.
