In honor of the upcoming release of the big screen version of the beloved musical 'Les Miserables,' we've compiled a list of the 10 most creative 'Les Mis' covers on YouTube. From protests to dance pop remixes, these videos are a unique spin on a much-beloved musical-turned-movie.

1. 'Do You Hear the People Sing,' WI Capitol Protests

What happens when a protest meets theater nerds? Why, a singing flash mob, of course! Walker had better run and hide, because you don't mess with the theater geeks! In a rousing version of 'Do You Hear the People Sing,' the protestors found a creative way to voice their displeasure at their politicians.

2. 'Bring Him Home,' Ramin Karimloo Live at the New Theater

Best known for playing the Phantom of the Opera in the 25th anniversary concert DVD, Ramin Karimloo is no stranger to the music of 'Les Miserables' either. He played the role of Enjolras in the 25th Anniversary concert DVD of 'Les Miserables' and was also cast as Jean Valjean at the Queen's Theater in London. Now he takes the music of this much beloved musical and adapts it for his concert tour. No matter whether he's singing in concert or on the theater's stage, Ramin has some set of pipes that showcases why he is West End's darling.

3. 'One Day More' (Dubstep Remix)

Looks like dubstep has finally reached the world of Broadway show tunes! This remix, created by Ryan Campbell, is actually quite catchy and Gavin Roher's Marius is still better than the atrocious attempt by the youngest Jonas brother in the 25th Anniversary production. At least this guy can actually sing. We also got a giggle out of the "OccupyFrance1832" hashtag in the bottom of the video. Now that's creativity!

4. 'One Day More,' Polish Cast Flash Mob

In a rare treat, lucky 'Les Mis' fans were treated to a rousing rendition of 'One Day More' by the Polish cast in an awesome flash mob that took place in Warsaw's Golden Terraces on April 15th, 2011. It was an excellent way to celebrate the fact that the Original Cast Recording had finally been released in Polish and the lucky shoppers got a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. C'mon New York City -- can't we do that when 'Les Miserables' opens in theaters?

5. 'Do You Hear the People Sing?' Metal Version

We're used to dubstep, dance remixes, and spoof songs, but a metal arrangement of a famous and much-beloved Broadway show tune? Now that's something new! Braving the wrath of the theater geeks, the band Two Way Mirror performed the first-ever metal adaption of 'Do You Hear the People Sing'  at the Balliol College Ball in 2012 and it is beautiful. A bit slower than the original, but it sounds awesome. The metal Gods will be pleased.

6. 'One Test More,'  Engineering Musical Flash Mob

In order to have a bit of fun and relieve stress, every year the University of Toronto hosts Skule Nite 1t2 and these students chose to bust into a song from 'Les Miserables' during their engineering exam. Why didn't cool flash mobs like that happen back when we were in college? While the professor is agitated and a few of the students are confused, this is a hilarious spoof that will have any 'Les Mis' or stressed out-college student who is anxiously studying for finals cracking up.

7.  'Les Miserables' Flash Mob, New York High School

When a bunch of high school-aged theater nerds need to promote their performance of 'Les Miserables', what do they do? Create flyers? Nah. So passe! Create a Facebook event? Nah, not as much fun. Perform a flash mob at the Great Northern Mall in Clay, New York? You got it!

While it is admittedly not as much fun as the previous videos, these kids do have a decent set of pipes on them and it'd be interesting to see how their high school adapted the musical. The crowd seems amused to see a bunch of teens in hoodies and jeans belting out 'One Day More' and singing about 1832 France, but the best reaction shot in the video is by far from the couple sitting right before them and studiously ignoring the spectacle around them for their coffee.

8. 'Les Miserables' Flash Mob with Zach Braff

Yea, you read that right. Zach Braff was in a flashmob for the Huntington Theatre Company's 2011 Spotlight Spectacular. Braff and Lauren Molina of 'Sweeny Todd' fame led the Huntington staff in a rousing rendition of 'One Day More.' He surprisingly has a good voice, but Molina's voice is not as innocent as it should be for the role of Cosette. Sorry, Molina --  we've heard better.

9. 'I Dreamed A Dream,' Dance Pop Remix

This is another Ryan Campbell remix, but instead of dubstep, he's melded the world of dance pop with Broadway show tunes. Rachel Dady does an excellent job of turning the soulful 'I Dreamed a Dream' into a catchy and oddly upbeat pop song. This remix is definitely going on our iPods!

10. 'Confrontation,' Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal

'Les Miserables' fan boy Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal of 'How I Met Your Mother' treat viewers of the Megan Mullally to a giggle-worthy version of 'Confrontation' from the musical. You can tell that they're both having a ball with it, and their over-the-top facial expressions really sell it. By the cheers coming from the audience, you can tell that they got a huge kick out of it, too!
