Berkeley Student Automates His Dorm Room
Some college freshmen are more challenged at their school than others. But we’re going to venture a guess here and say Derek Lowe wasn’t feeling terribly intellectually stretched by his classwork. Hence his ongoing effort to turn his dorm room into a giant robot.
Low has fully automated his room: it can be controlled with a remote, a smartphone app, a tablet app, or by voice. The lights, curtains, and alarm clock are all fully automated and have multiple modes, including Romantic Mode and Party Mode. We’re assuming these are more hopeful than actually used, although he does have a nice Emergency Party Button.
And the name for this system? BRAD: Berkeley Ridiculously Automated Dorm. How apt!
