This car was purring like a kitten.

A three-week-old kitten somehow survived a 1,000-mile trip over two days inside a car engine.

The driver of the Honda Fit heard the animal before leaving Oregon, but failed to locate it. When she again heard the cat the next day while in Santa Barbara, California, she decided to call for some assistance, bringing in a tow truck driver and an animal activist.

Tow truck driver Chuck Love arrived, and they eventually spotted the kitten. That turned out to be the easy part; it took another 30 minutes to get the poor animal out. Other than a swollen eye, the cat was miraculously fine.

The kitten is now in the care of the animal activist who was on the scene. And in a sweet gesture, she decided to name it Love, after the tow truck driver.
