Marvel Studio's strategy of setting up 'The Avengers' in movies like 'Iron Man' and 'Thor' paid off big time, with the film taking in over $200 million dollars in North America during its opening weekend. That tally shattered the previous opening weekend record of $169.2 million set by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" last year. If you add in all global tickets sales, 'The Avengers' is already approaching the $700 million mark.

In addition to inspiring folks to get themselves to the local movie theater, the team of mismatched superheros are also inspiring some really cool art. Ken Robichaud has made some pretty amazing replicas of The Avengers' trusty weapons using Legos.

You can see examples of Robichaud's work on his Flickr account. Some of our favorites include Thor's mighty hammer and wristband and Captain America's shield. We're not sure we would bring the full-sized props into battle against Loki, but they'd look great next Halloween. See some Avengers weapons "assembled" out of Legos below.
