Adorable Dog Maddie Stands on Things All Over the Country

Atlanta-based photographer Theron Humphrey describes his website Maddieonthings.com as "a super serious project about dogs and physics," but let's call it what it really is -- an excuse to have his Coonhound pose on a bunch of silly objects. And that's good enough for us.

As he travels across all 50 states as part of a year-long trip, Humphrey photographs his dog Maddie balancing on everything from ladders to shopping carts. The result is a hilarious photoblog featuring what must be the most patient dog ever.

According to Humphrey, the project began as a simple bet with a friend. "I had been photographing Maddie for a bit, just for fun, to do something different. A friend challenged me to see if Maddie could stand on four soup cans. She did it on the first try!" he said.

Humphrey and Maddie have visited 45 states and driven 47,000 miles so far. That's a lot of standing! Their trip will end this December in Hawaii, said Humphrey. See more photos of Maddie standing on things below.
