In the late '80s/early '90s, how many of you were glued to books by people like Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine and A. Bates? Long before 'Twilight,' these young adult authors were churning out sordid tales of psycho teenage killers, body-switching beautiful girls and revenge fantasies that also somehow involved final exams.

We miss those books, and we would love to see them come back and take on some of our current horror movies...while still involving teenagers. Take a look at some current horror films reimagined as retro YA novels. (Photoshops by Kristy Puchko.)

This book is exactly the same as the movie, except take out the (SPOILER ALERT!) plot twist that it's a corporation scaring the teenagers in the cabin. Instead, it's the ghost of a girl that died of alcohol poisoning the year before. But, other than that, exactly the same.

Also Brienne is mad that Lana stole her boyfriend in middle school.

High school is tough. Especially when your principal is hiding a dark secret -- years ago his daughter was killed in a freak port-a-potty accident, and he's been seething and plotting all these years, waiting for the other kids involved in the accident to get to high school, so he can give them an ad hoc lesson on the human digestive system.
