While the movie world gathers to celebrate the best in film for 2012, the nominations for The Razzies - celebrating the absolute worst in film for 2012 - were announced and it was a record-breaking year.  For Adam Sandler.

Adam Sandler broke the record for the most amount of Razzies nominations in one year, previously set by Eddie Murphy in 2007.  And Sandler didn't just break the record - he more than doubled the record with 11 nominations to Murphy's five. What's maybe most impressive is that the Razzies only has 11 categories.

Sandler's films - 'Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star', 'Jack & Jill' and 'Just Go With It' - dominated the Razzies this year despite a strong showings from 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' and 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.'  Sandler even managed to get nominated as both Worst Actor and Worst Actress, which is nothing short of amazing.

The actual awards won't be handed out until April 1st (natch), but for now you can look back to January when we predicted the nominees to see how we did (hint: pretty well!). Check out the full list of Razzies nominees below.
